One of the Pastors took the challenge to translate the material in Bahasa Malaysia and used it in the class. However, they all came back together for the Lecture. Pray that God will raise up a person to even give the lectures in Bahasa Malaysia in the coming days.

Ken
Ken Needham, the speaker spoke on Ezekiel the first day and then on the Life of Daniel, Moses and Jesus on the second day. It was refreshing to hear Ken bring God’s word alive to the conference.

It was a time of meeting old friends and new ones in the course of the conference.
The next Conference is to be held in 2012.

It was a great pleasure for the ND to meet CBSI International Directors, Frank & Marian at the airport and to drive them to their hotel. Frank and Marian later had dinner with Fred & Yoke Fong in their home. On Tuesday they will visit the PJ Class and share a little of what is happening in the CBSI world. They are here for the Asia Pacific Regional Conference.
Ash Wednesday marks the first day of the season of Lent. Lent begins 40 days prior to Easter, not including Sundays. As the first day of Lent, Ash Wednesday comes the day after Shrove Tuesday or Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday), the last day of the Carnival season. Many churches hold services on Ash Wednesday early in the morning, at noon, and in the evening.
Not all Christian churches observe Ash Wednesday or Lent. Some of those observing Ash Wednesday are: Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, Anglican, and the Roman Catholic.
Ashes are a symbol of repentance. The use of ashes on the first day of Lent comes from a ceremony of ages past. Christians who had committed grave faults performed public penance. The penitent dusted himself with ashes as a way of expressing sorrow for sins and faults. This practice was partially based on the ancient example of one expressing penitence as found in Job 42:3-6. Job says to God: “I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear; but now mine eye seeth thee. The other eye wandereth of its own accord. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”(KJV)
The ashes traditionally are made by burning the palms used in the Palm Sunday celebration of the previous year. The ashes are mixed with Holy Water and oil. The oil used can be one of the sacred oils used to anoint those about to be baptized. This paste is used by the minister who presides at the service to make the sign of the cross, first upon his or her own forehead and then on those of the congregants. The minister recites the words: “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return”, (Genesis 3:19) or “Repent, and believe the good news.”(Mark 1:15) The worshipper traditionally retains the cross on the forehead until it wears off.

1. Pray that all will arrive safely here in Malaysia and their transfers to PD will be smooth.
2. Pray for bro James Sai Ruma from Myanmar. Pray that his visa will be approved by the Malaysian Embassy in Yangon.
3.Pray for the delegation from the Indian sub-continent.
4. Pray for the delegation from the Philippines.
5. Pray for Rich & Besty as they coordinate the conference. Pray that God will give them wisdom.
6. Pray for Peter Hanscamp as he chairs as Asia Pacific Director. Pray that God will position the national teams for expansion in the various countries.
7. Pray for Frank & Marian Vroegop our International Directors on their first visit to the region. Pray for their time with the PJ Class.
8. Pray for Ned the speaker as he leads the conference in thoughts of transformation.
9. Pray for Darlene as she trains the Children leaders.
The National Director is in discussion with a number of church leaders in working together to start a number of new classes this year. We are praying for classes in the following areas:
1. Seremban, Negri Sembilan,
2. Melaka ( a more reachable place)
3. Butterworth
4. Georgetown
5. Kuala Trengganu.

Over 75 delegates have registered for the Conference from the Asia Pacific Area. Esther Richards and 2 others from the Ampang International Class will be attending the conference.
