Strategic Partnership

God'word to all

CBSI Malaysia is looking into a strategic partnership with “WISE” a ministry of Singapore Bible Society in the use of an audio bible called “Megavoice” These little units which are smaller than a mobile phone can hold between 80-120 hours of Bible material. Thus it is now possible to have the Old and New testament in one unit.

With the rising numbers of immigrants in many countries, MegaVoice will be an ideal tool for churches and Christians to introduce God’s word to these different language group people.

We praise God for such a tool. Praise God for MegaVoice.

Penang next Class?

Our National Director was in Penang facilitating a seminar on “End of Life” Care by Rev Prof. John Lunn. This was held at the Anglican Centre in Penang which is in the compounds of St. Nicholas School for the Visually Handicapped.

Fred spent some time at this school in 1976 while doing a practical term for the seminary. It brought back fond memories of many of the blind students who were here.

This week has open the doors for a greater possibility to begin a CBSI Class here at the Centre which will be opened to all who want to know more about the Lord and especially for those who want to grow deeper in God’s Word. Please pray that the Lord’s timing and direction will be made clear to us.

3 Scores & Ten

Alan with family

It was a joy to be invited to celebrate the 70th birthday of our brother Alan Chong who was a small group leader in the PJ Class. A group of about 30 friends and family gather at a hotel for the surprised celebration A number of them were CBSIers.

I was given the privilege to pray a blessing for him and give thanks to God for the gathering and food.

Alan we are so proud and honoured to be there to celebrate with you God’s goodness.

Condolences

CBSI Malaysia extends our heartfelt condolences to Dr. Manokaran and wife Rosy on the passing away of their beloved daughter Hosanna in India. Hosanna was a final year Medical student in Belarus. She succumbed to a rare strand of cancer. While she was alive she served the Lord powerfully bringing many medical students to the Lord.

Dr.Mano is part of the Servants Team for India under Ps. Devendra Rai. Please pray for them and also for Dev as he travels to be with Dr. Mano and family at this time.

God’s peace be with them.

Church Camps Opportunites for CBSI

As the National Director, I was invited to speak at 2 Church Camps during the long break. It was an opportunity to introduce the Ministry of CBSI Malaysia.

The first camp was held from 26-28 August. This was held in a eco-friendly fruit orchard. The theme was “One reaching One” Fred was able to lead the church through a series of messages from Paul’s Letter to the Philippians helping them to set their Out-reach programme as a priority.

The Second was at a beach Resort in Lumut from 30 August to 1 September. The theme was: “Church Aflame” There were 5 sessions challenging the church to minister in the Power of the Holy Spirit and looking at how God used Fire to move the people of Israel. It climaxed with the out-pouring of the Holy Spirit as in tongues of fire on the day of Pentecost.

At these 2 church camps I was privileged to share with the leaders the vision and ministry of CBSI Malaysia. I am confident that as God opens these little windows it will lead to great doors in the days to come. Pray with me for this to happen.

Classes Set to Resume

Welcome back from the week long holidays. I hope you have had a great time and also time to meditate on God’s word. The events that are taking place around us is unsettling. People are also remembering the events of 9/11 at this time and the sadness that crept into our hearts. We pray that these would never occur again.

A thought came to me as the saints went through those times of great tribulation in Revelations. God was not judging His people, but was in fact waking up all the unbelievers to return to the fear of God. Are the calamities, earthquakes, floods and wars not signs from the Lord that what the world needs is not great leaders but God. He only can bring and give us the peace.

So as we begin classes again, I pray that you will greatly be encouraged and blessed by His Word and grow closer to the Lord in this last semester of this year.

Happy studying!!!!!!
