Controversial Conversion Bill withdrawn

The Cabinet last Wednesday announced the withdrawal of the above Bill that was to be tabled in Parliament. We thank the Cabinet for their decision and pray that God will give them wisdom as they draft laws and bills for the good of the nation.

The Bill if passed would have allowed any one of the parent to convert their child to Islam without the consent of the other parent. This cause an out cry among the minority groups and NGO’s and called on the Government to think through the Bill carefully so that it was fair and acceptable by all the citizens of the Nation.

We praise God that the Church prayed. We must continue to pray for our beloved Nation.

Condolences

CBSI Malaysia conveys our deepest condolences to our member of the JB Class. Ms Sheena Tay who lost her mother on 3rd. July in Kuala Lumpur. Sheena had shared Christ with her mother many times and we pray that the seeds sown would bear fruit in the eyes of the Lord. Sheena and her sister are the only Christians in the family.

We also express condolences to Betty Foo also a member of the JB Class who lost her mother last Tuesday. Her mother worshiped in the Roman Catholic Church in JB.

Please uphold these sisters as they grieve the lost of their loves ones.

We are praying for you.

Classes resume

WE are glad to inform all that classes have resumed for the 2nd Semester. 4 Classes are now running at “full-speed” These are all night classes. We are praying that a day class could be started in PJ for the senior members who are finding it a little difficult with driving to class in the night. Pray that God will speak to one of the the Teaching Leaders to take on the challenge. Please also pray that our members will be protected from all harm as they travel to classes. In recent times the security situation especially in Kuala Lumpur has been unsafe.

Last Class for the first semester

The PJ Class is having their last class tonight as they break for the 1st Semester break. They have Been studying the Book of Revelation and the attendance as be good. There was even a new member last week. She just news of the class through the web site. Praise God for this media.

Most of the other classes closed last week. Many churches are also having their family camps and we want to encourage you as CBSI class members to be part of your church camp. This is where you will have the opportunity to share your experiences in CBSI and invite new members to join your class. I pray that you will have the passion of bringing someone to the Lord and at the same time seeing them grow in the Lord. Getting them to a CBSI class is one of the greatest gifts you can give them.

Happy Holidays and God bless you.

Oh there is home work to do!

In a conversation with a pastor today, I suggested that she may want to try the CBSI method for her Bible Study. I assured her that I would be willing to train her and her group. I was pleasantly surprised by her response, ” too much home work to do!”

The CBSI method is designed in such a way that the busiest person will be able to do the study. One question in the morning, one in afternoon and maybe 2 in the night. The secret is to attempt the questions given on a daily basis. This is a good habit because, as we study the Bible daily it is an opportunity for the Lord to speak to us. Thus His word must always be fresh to us.

If you would like to know more of CBSI, please call Rev Fred David (019-820-8245 or email: cbstudymy @ gmail.com

Belated Easter Greetings

easter-garden-via-Melissa-Holt1Belated Easter Greetings to all members and friends. It has been a very busy time, nevertheless we pray that the season has brought to you a “freshness” of that Easter morning.

Most of our classes have begun their semesters and we praise God for the many new members that have joined our classes. Our desire is to see that in all major towns of the country there is at least one CBSI class to help people who are searching to know God deeper. Our prayer that there will be a desire in the hearts of people for God’s word is being answered. We must continue to pray that people will find love. fellowship and confidence in their small groups.

Palm Sunday

The Church universal will celebrate Palm Sunday on Sunday 24 March,

On Palm Sunday Christians celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, the week before his death and resurrection. For many Christian churches, Palm Sunday, often referred to as “Passion Sunday,” marks the beginning of Holy Week, which concludes on Easter Sunday.

The Bible reveals that when Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds greeted him by waving palm branches and covering his path with palm branches. Immediately following this great time of celebration in the ministry of Jesus, he begins his journey to the cross.

The biblical account of Palm Sunday can be found in Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-44; and John 12:12-19.

CBSI Malaysia wishes all members a meaningful Passion Week. Seek the Lord while he is to be found!
