CBSI Asia Pacific Conference

Ken

We praise God for the success of the above Conference. Almost 80 particpants from the Asia Pacific region came together at Port Dickson, Malaysia. We thank Rich and Besty, Calebs in Thailand for a great job done.

Ken Needham, the speaker spoke on Ezekiel the first day and then on the Life of Daniel, Moses and Jesus on the second day. It was refreshing to hear Ken bring God’s word alive to the conference.

Marian Vroegop, spoke on Developing Leaders Around You.

It was a time of meeting old friends and new ones in the course of the conference.

The next Conference is to be held in 2012.

Happy Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year celebrations is spread over 15 days and though we have gone past the actual dates of 3 & 4 February, it is still in order to wish all our Chinese members Happy Chinese New Year. We pray that this will be another year of God’s Blessing on you and your families.

My special prayer is that God will help us grow deeper in His Word this year and that many will see the need of being part of a CBSI Class in the Country.

God’s Blessing as you celebrate Chinese New Year

Year of the Rabbit

Starry Night

I always wondered how it was the night the angels appeared to the shepherds in the fields outside Bethlehem. Yoke Fong and I were in Singapore last week to see a friend who is very sick. After spending some time with her we took a walk to the famous Orchard Road to see the Christmas lights. Here is something that can help your imagination. Although this must be magnified a thousand times. We all long to see the glory of God

and the glory of the Lord

Back From Myanmar

It has been a great time of teaching in Pyin Oo Lwin, about an hour’s drive from the ancient capital city of Mandalay. This was the same place that I went to in July. This is the Hill Station for the British in days gone by. The weather was great about 9C.

This time round I used 1 Timothy and it was a great time of learning together by the pastors and evangelists. The class has doubled since July. They are learning the lost art of good Bible Study. One of the thing that excites me is that there is a desire to want to go deeper into God’s word.

The next training will be in February -March 2011. There will a be training session on leading bible study.

Thank you for your prayers and keep praying that the pastors and evangelists will ask God for boldness as they study His Word.

Curtains falls!!!!!

Giving thanks

On Monday 8 November the last class for the year was held in Klang. With that they have finished the study of Daniel. Rev Viji the pastor of the host church prayed and thanked God for the wonderful and inspiring insights they had gained from the study and the lectures.

Let the Light Shine

Little India all lighted up

The festive air is back in Malaysia despite the heavy rains and flooding in the Northern states of Perlis and Kedah and on the East Coast states of Kelantan and Trengganu. The nation is celebrating the Hindu Festival of Lights or Deepavali.

We pray that people will have the opportunity in this season to hear about the One that gives the True Light- Jesus Christ. This is the Light that came to take away the darkness in the world.

If you wish to know more about the Light of the World, just leave a comment on our site and we will help direct you to some avenues of help.

Love still Glows after 25 years!

Love still glows

After being married for 25 years, Daniel and Daisy Rajamoney are still very much in love. This is an occasion for celebration and we at CBSI Malaysia congratulate them on their 25th. Wedding Anniversary which took place on Sunday 5 September. The celebration was held in their home church of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Klang. A service of Renewal of Marriage Vows and Blessing was conducted by their Vicar, the Rev Dr. Viji Daniel who is also a member of the CBSI Class in Klang.

We pray that God will continue to bless them as they serve Him as a couple. Daniel is a small group leader of the Klang Class. Their love and devotion for each other is such that they requested to be placed in the same small group so that they can support each other in carrying out their service to others.

Playing the supportive role to either of the spouses is something that is needed to be brought back into Christian marriages these days.

Congratulations once again and Glorify God in your life.

Merdeka Day

Classes are closed for 2 weeks as the Nation of Malaysia celebrates her 53rd Independence Day. It was on 31 August 1957 that Malaya got its independence from Britain. Please pray for the nation as she goes through rapid change. Pray that there will be good governance and that the freedom of religion will always be upheld. The Christian Community has begun a 40 day prayer and fasting which will end on 16 September. This is the Day when the states of Sabah and Sarawak came together with West Malaysia to form the new nation of Malaysia. Pray that the Church will always be a light shining in places of darkness.
