Small Group Leaders Training

We praise God that a small group leaders training was conducted by our National Director for the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia. We thank Mrs. Anne Abbarow, the wife of the new Bishop who initiated this training. She had visited 2 classes and was interested in what she saw. About 12 persona attended the training and among them was a retired Bishop. He said he wanted to learn something new even in retirement. Praise the Lord. We pray that at least 5 new class would be established as a result of this training. We thank God for answering our prayers of seeing people becoming confident in the Word of God. Amen!

Message from the International Director

God’s Word Is Not Bound!

The COVID-19 crisis is causing massive disruptions and triggering fear, but the pandemic cannot stop the Word of God.

The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, “Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound!” (2 Timothy 2:8-9) Community Bible Study leaders around the world may be grounded, but they cannot be stopped. Our leaders are developing and implementing creative solutions to the current challenges. And God and His Word continue to transform lives.

Thanksgiving Dinner

The PJ CLass on Tuesday 10 December held their annual thanksgiving dinner. It was a good time of fellowship and sharing God’s blessings. A little bit of games, testimonies and sharing the goodness of studying the word of God together. The food was excellent.

Many are looking forward to coming back in the new year to begin their studies for yet another year. Classes will start in January. The leaders will be meeting to set in motion the study programme for 2020. If you know of anyone who would benefit from these studies or would be interested in studying the Word of God in a friendly and loving environment, please contact Esther Richards @

Thank You to the leaders

CBSI Malaysia is so thankful to a team of dedicated leaders who lead the PJ Class week after week. Ms. Esther Richards as Class Coordinator has done a marvelous job to keep the class running. A special word of thanks to Rev Joshua Ong who has graciously opened the doors of St. Paul’s PJ for classes to be held on Tuesday evenings.

102015thanks

We praise God that all classes have finished their studies for the year. It has been an interesting and exciting year for many. The testimonies we hear are about how God has spoken to so many of the members through His Word. This has encouraged many to even sign up for 2019.

AS Blessed Advent Season to all as we prepare for the Birth of Jesus. may each advent candle remind us of the coming of the Son of God. Christmas has become so commercialized that we need to put Christ back into Christmas. I pray that as you spend time with family and friends in this wonderful season, you will remember those in need and lonely.

See you next year.!

Tribute to Peter Hanscampe

FB_IMG_1507549677881The late Peter Hanscampe was the first to be appointed as the Asia Pacific Regional Director in early 2000. He was teaching and pastoring in Singapore when he came into contact with CBSI through the Woodlands CBSI class.

Peter was really a pastor at heart and his care and love for the team in Asia Pacific was greatly appreciated and cherished. Peter had made many visits to Malaysia and would always stay with the Davids while they were in Sabah and then later in Kuala Lumpur. Peter encouraged CBSI Malaysia to be formally registered and to see that it would operate on its own.  He was really pleased that he was able to see the CBSI Board instituted and commissioned the Board of Directors under the Chairmanship of Datuk Rev Dr. Yeoh Beng San and the commissioning of the National Director.

Peter ably led the Asia Pacific team for many years and through many conferences building a strong bond amongst the team.

It was sad to hear of Peter’s passing away early this year. CBSI Malaysia thanks God for the life and ministry of Peter and Mathilda Hanscampe.

May they rest in peace. We will meet again!
