Training in this historic town of Melaka. Melaka has been under the Dutch, Portuguese and than from the 1600 under the British. The class will be held in one of the oldest churches in Malaysia, Christ Church Melaka. The structure and color is unique and is listed as a heritage building under the UN. This was the seat of Christianity in the early days and CBSI is thrilled to be invited to run classes here. We pray that through the classes, many ,including the wast number of tourists, will find God’s word a comfort and guide in their journeys. We pray that the seeds of the Good news will be sown through the CBSI class here in Melaka, in the hearts of the many who come and go. We trust God to bring in the harvest. They will be studying James and class begins on 23 March 2009 at Christ Church, Melaka at 7.00pm. Another New Class!

A new class has begun in the Sub district of Ampang anchored at the Ampang Gospel Hall. The coordinator of this group is Ben Lew who is burdened to see people grow in the word. The training day was very eventful as a small fire broke out at the electrical switch box. This did not deter training.  The opening day was also eventful as there were flash floods in the city. But to the surprise of the leaders all attended the leaders session and when the doors were opened, all who had registered “flooded” into the church. The class commenced on 4 march 2009.

Archbishop of Myanmar visits CBSI Classes

The Most Rev Stephen Then, Archbishop of Church of the Province of Myanmar, paid visits to 2 of the CBSI classes in Malaysia despite his short stay in Kuala Lumpur. On Wednesday night (9 February ) Archbishop visited the Ampang Class held at the Melawati Gospel Center. He sat in on the Leaders Meeting. Then on Thursday (10 February) he travelled with the National Director to Ipoh to visit the class at the YMCA.

The Archbishop addressed the groups after the study and shared that he was deeply comforted and strengthen by God’s Word and the support of many Christians and Churches when the Nargis Cyclone hit Myanmar. He said that he was impressed by the depth of maturity he had observed in the groups and the desire to study the Word. He added that the lectures given after the study was most effective and inspiring. This is a good way to get people to study God’s word. He ended by saying that he longed to see such bible study groups set up in Yangon and all over the major cities of Myanmar.

Brothers and sisters let us pray the the desires of this man of God will come to pass in the near future.

PJ Class Commences

The PJ Class commenced on 17 February 2009 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church. It was exciting as the turn out was  more than the number registered. Praise the Lord! I never cease to be amazed at what the Lord does. The number is expected to increase as class members were confident of bringing their friends to the class next week. There were 31 present last week. There is a good team of small group leaders. This year we are hoping that those who have been trained as Teaching Leaders will be confident to take some of the sessions. Please pray for Thomas Kong as he coordinates this group. The Class is studying Colossians.PJ Cordinator - Thomas kongPJ Class in worship
