A great time
Our speaker Rev Bill Crowder commented, “I did not think that there was a place like this in Kuala Lumpur” He was referring to the conference venue at the CheFoo Methodist Centre, Cameron Highlands. The weather was just cool and fine and the quietness was indeed a blessing.
30 members of the various CBSI classes in the country gathered at this Conference Center from 1-3 October 2012 for our 1st National Conference. Rev Bill Crowder spoke on the theme: “Spotlight of Faith” in 3 sessions:
1. Barnabas: The Encourager
2. Martha: The Misunderstood
3. Job: The Sufferer.
He brought God’s word in a fresh and unique way helping us to see things that we never considered before. Thanks Bill!
Our Morning Devotions were taken by the Rev Albert Selwyn from Singapore. There were equipping sessions on the 2nd day.
Apart from feeding on God’s word, we had a great Bar-b-que with invited friends and this gave the members the opportunity to share their excitement and joy in being a member of a CBSI Class. One member was heard to be saying, ” You must not miss this, start soon!”
Rev Fred David, our National Director, in his closing address shared the plans and vision of the ministry in the coming years. The need for more members to become teaching leaders and for all to be ambassadors introducing the Ministry of CBSI Malaysia to as many as possible.
We now look forward to the 2014 Conference, where we will celebrate with thanksgiving 15 years of CBSI Ministry in Malaysia. We thank God for his goodness to us at the Conference.

The JB last met on Thursday 29 November for their last class on Ephesians. It was a time of thanksgiving and encouraging one another. The Class Coordinator Dr. Low spoke of how he was encouraged and strengthen by the class study and the lectures. Rev Fred thanked all for their eagerness to study God’s word. He himself has grown through the sharing and experiences of class members. He appealed to all that as they come again in the New year, that each be challenged to bring one new person to study God’s Word.
