Everyone in the World…in the Word

We praise God that a small group leaders training was conducted by our National Director for the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia. We thank Mrs. Anne Abbarow, the wife of the new Bishop who initiated this training. She had visited 2 classes and was interested in what she saw. About 12 persona attended the training and among them was a retired Bishop. He said he wanted to learn something new even in retirement. Praise the Lord. We pray that at least 5 new class would be established as a result of this training. We thank God for answering our prayers of seeing people becoming confident in the Word of God. Amen!

We are pleased to announce that online classes are held on the following days:

Dr. Earl J Reeves

CBSI Malaysia mourns the loss of Dr. Earl J Reeves who was called home to the Lord on 11 January 2021. The late Dr. Reeves and Bette were the very first persons to come out to Malaysia and Singapore in the late 90s as Calebs for CBSI. Our National Director while on a Sabbatical in Austin, Texas made contact with them and was subsequently trained in Singapore in 1997 to organize and run CBSI classes.

We thank God for Dr. Reeves’ godly mentoring and leadership in the Asia Pacific region. Together with Bette they were they demonstrated the Shepherd’s love for us. May you Rest in Peace Earl.

CBSI Malaysia was able to help a tent-maker in Vietnam to launch an English Class among university students. The leader of the class teaches English to the students. We ask for prayers for her and may the Lord increase the harvest in the coming days. Amen

Thank You Bette Reeves

Board of Directors and members of CBSI Malaysia extend our deepest condolences to Dr. Earl Reeves and family on the passing away of Bette Reeves. Earl and Bette were very instrumental in the setting up of CBSI Malaysia in 2001 when they were Calebs overseeing the ministry of Asia Pacific. Our National Director first met then when he was on a Sabbatical in Austin Texas and traveled to St. Louis to visit them.

Bette has always been a source of inspiration and encouragement. We continue to pray for Dr Earl in this time of loss and may the Lord continue to strengthen him.

Thank you Bette and we know you will be rejoicing in the Lord’s presence.

Classes are still on-line and it has been encouraging that people are finding it easier to join these classes. 2 Classes – PJ and Ampang Classes are doing the Gospel of Matthew. The Bukit Jalil and Damansara classes are doing the book of the Prophet Isaiah.

Going on-line CBSI Malaysia is now able to have members as for as Iran joining us. We want to praise God for this new development. Amen

We give thanks that the PJ class has gone online. Pray that many more will be able to join this class. Though this will be a new experience for many. we trust that this bring the indepth study of God’s word into their homes. May this be an opening for other members of the family to join the class.

Praise God for what He is doing!

Easter Greetings

The Board of Directors, the National Director and all Class Coordinators wish all our members and friends a Blessed Easter. May the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary be the pattern for our own journey with the Lord. Giving the best for others and serving the Living God!.

Alleluia He is Risen

God’s Word Is Not Bound!

The COVID-19 crisis is causing massive disruptions and triggering fear, but the pandemic cannot stop the Word of God.

The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, “Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound!” (2 Timothy 2:8-9) Community Bible Study leaders around the world may be grounded, but they cannot be stopped. Our leaders are developing and implementing creative solutions to the current challenges. And God and His Word continue to transform lives.
