Everyone in the World…in the Word

Class in Miri has started!

IMGP3066We want to praise God that a new class has started in Miri on 6 August at St. Columba’s Church, Miri. There are more then 50 attending the class. A few members have come as far as Brunei. We praise God for this. We are praying that those from Brunei will be challenged and be led to start a class there too. Please pray for bro. Augustine and Rev Alfred as they coordinate this class. Our national director has been travelling to Miri from KL every Thursday to help in doing the summary lecture. This will give them an idea of how it is done and presented.

He is hoping that there will be another Teaching Leaders training for those called to be TLs.

Pray for Miri!

miriIn July a new class will commence in Miri, a town in that state of Sarawak, East Malaysia. Our National Director at the invitation of  the church did a small group and teaching leaders training in May. There were about 25 who were trained. It was a very exciting 2 days. Many who came to the training were pleased that we were being equipped to lead and facilitate Bible study groups in a different way. Those who are going to be teaching leaders, felt that the session on Lecture preparation was very helpful. It gave them a new approach to study the Bible.

Do pray for the Coordinators, Rev Alfred Jabu and bro Augustine Saidi as they prepare to launch the Class in Miri. Pray as  invitations are sent to the local churches, that they too will be able to grow deeper in God’s word.

unnamed-6It is wonderful to see that the Damansara Class is steadily growing. Our latest addition is sister Voony. She had inquired where her friend Aiwern goes each Wednesday night. After finding out that Aiwern attends a CBSI Bible study class, she decided to come along. She has been enjoying the study on Paul’s 2nd Letter to the Corinthians. But above all the fellowship, care and love that she experiences. Praise the Lord!unnamed-5

giving honor to God

giving honor to God

We want to praise God for the 80 years that He has given to “aunty Glo” one of our Teaching leaders at the  PJ class. Some of the small groups leaders were invited to the party to celebrate this great day. There were some of her former students, former teachers and long time friends and family also present at the occasion.  Our National Director was given the privilege to pray for her and give the Benediction.

We pray that God will continue to give her many more years as she continues to serve him faithfully.

HAPPY 80th. BIRTHDAY AUNTY GLO!

On January 13, the PJ Class honored our National Director by celebrating his birthday and prayed and gave thanks to God for his untiring and passion for the ministry. This was also a great occasion as they came together to begin their new semester. They are continuing to study the Book Genesis. Many have shared that their understanding and love the Old Testament is now at a new level. We praise God that through these studies, God is revealing Himself to many.

The PJ Class meets in Tuesday at 8.00pm for their studies. If you are interested to join this class, please contact Esther Richards – 012-656-9482. IMGP3025We praise God that the Class in Selayang which began our first Tamil study, completed their study on Monday 20 October 2014. The attendance has been consistent with over 25 each week and in 3 small groups. I take this opportunity to congratulate them for their commitment and eagerness in wanting to study God’s word. I thank the small group leaders for their leadership in the small groups. Well done brothers and sister.

To bring the study to a close, the group had a supper fellowship prepared after the last lesson. It was indeed a blessing to be part of this class.

Happy Birthday

IMGP2960The PJ Class celebrated the birthdays of our Coordinator sister Esther Richards and also brother Jack Nadaraja who is a small group leaders. These little celebrations at the end of the class is much looked forward to. One of the essentials of the CBSI programme is the care for one another. This  is time for members of the different groups to mingle and share fellowship.  Often it is at these times that you hear how effective the study has been.  It is often a time of praise. CBSI Malaysia is helping to raise a a greater number of people who will apply God’s words into their daily lives. Amen.
