Everyone in the World…in the Word

1st Tamil CBSI Class

Great fun

Great fun

It was indeed an exciting Monday on 11August 2014. It was the beginning of the first Tamil CBSI class in Malaysia. We are grateful to St. Matthew’s Church, Selayang for willing to be the host church. 25 people were present and there were a couple of Pastors too who had come to study the Word.  We praise God for this and look forward to more people to join this group.

If you have friends in the Kepong/Selayang area and who would like to join a good Bible please ask them to contact Rev Jesvinder Singh 016-636-7722 (jesvindersingh@yahoo.com)

We want to congratulate the PJ Class as they begin on another 30 week study of the Book Genesis. They will start with the introductory lecture on 8 July 2014 at 8.00pm at St. Paul’s Church, PJ.

WHY SHOULD WE STUDY THE BOOK GENESIS?
In history, there is always a point of reference. The Bible is through and through, a historical revelation. It is the account of God’s activity in history. The Book Genesis gives us this historical reference from which all subsequent revelations proceed. Here we find the roots of the inhabited world and universe, of man and nations and of sin and redemption.

An interesting time of discovering God’s revelation and interaction with class members will be enriching for your walk with the Lord. CBSI Malaysia welcomes you to this exciting journey in life.

Call Esther Richards (012-65609482) for details and registration.

The late Mr. Devadas Dorairaj

The late Mr. Devadas Dorairaj

Early on Sunday 29 June, Mr. Devadas Dorairaj, the husband of our PJ Class Coordinator and Teaching Leader, Esther Richards went to be with the Lord. The late Mr. Devadas in addition to being a wonderful husband and father was an educationist, Christian leader and an churchman. In his early days he and Esther went out with a team to plant a church in Puchong under the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia. He also served with NECF as their prayer coordinator for a time. In the mid 2000 he went to Sabah to help All Saints Cathedral, Kota Kinabalu. He had a passion for the Lord and when any door opened for the work of the Lord to be extended, Devadas would never hesitate to seize the opportunity for the Lord.

CBSI Malayisa National Director, Rev Fred David preached at the funeral service at the request of the family. He spoke on Revelation 21.1-7 the passage that the family had chosen.

To our dear sister Esther, CBSI Malaysia and especially the PJ Class convey our deepest sympathies and are praying that the Holy Spirit God’s comforter will be your strength and guide in your loss.

unnamedWe are thrilled to have Christopher and Grace join the Damansara Class. Christopher comes from Indonesia and after finishing his study course is working in Kuala Lumpur. Grace on the other is from China and is studying English. She is a Christian from mainland China and is a blessing to many of her fellow students.

They decided to join the CBSI class here and are keen to go deep into God’s word.

It was the first time that the new South Asia servants team met in Singapore at the Katong Presbyterian Church. Our appreciation to Mr. David Soon the Singapore National Coordinator for making this possible. Members came from Nagaland, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderbad, Malaysia and Singapore. Dr. Mano the South Asia Director led the meeting. It was a time of getting to know each other and sharing what the Lord was doing in our regions.

IMGP2927CBSI Malaysia conducted 2 Tamil trainings one at Peace Community Church for the Klang Valley on Tuesday 22 April and the other at Church of Holy Spirit, Ipoh on Wednesday 23 April. 24 persons attended these one day trainings. All the participants were pleased with the trainings and expressed their appreciation to CBSI Malaysia, as there has never been such a training before. As a result of this training 5 potential Tamil Classes could be in the pipe line. Please pray with us as we seek the Lord’s direction for the Tamil classes.
