Everyone in the World…in the Word

Another Small Group Training

On Saturday 5 September, Fred will be doing another small group training in the town of Klang, which is west of Kuala Lumpur the capital. With this there will now be 2 classes meeting in this “big” town. One will be at Bethany Gospel Hall and the other at St. Barnabas Church. Praise God that church leaders are seeing the need for good Bible Study classes and are willing to open their churches for this to happen.

Please pray for the training this Saturday. We will be training over 20 leaders. Pray that those who come to this training will catch the vision “Everyone in the World in the Word”

With this, the potential of seeing more people confident in God’s word is becoming a reality. Pray that they will go out and touch many others with the Word of God.

It is a great joy to see the Johor Baru Class members faithfully coming to their class each week. There are 3 English groups and a Chinese Group. Next Tuesday 8 September will be their final session for James after which they will take a break and come back to do another short study.

Next week will be exciting as the Class Coordinator has asked all those who have been blessed by the study to be prepared to share their testimonies.

Be on the LOOK OUT for these testimonies. They will speak a great deal of the power of God’s word.

God answers prayers!

Last weekend Fred was in Sabah, which is in East Malaysia for an International Conference. He was able to take time to meet with the teaching leaders and 2 other small group leaders in Kota Kinabalu. As he shared about the need to have the Chinese materials translated, one of the TL’s suggested that Fred approach a retired school principal who is a fine Christian and Church leader. When Fred met him, he was so very excited that we should think of him. He was wanting to do something more for the Lord. He has accepted to do the draft translations and we are putting in a checking process that Fred had learnt when he was involved in Bible Translation. Praise the Lord. The Lord never fails. Amen.

Bi-lingual Class

One of the interesting features of the Johor Baru Class is that, there is a bi-lingual class. A number of our members who understand English well, but would prefer to have their discussion in Mandarin. They will then come back and listen to the lecture in English. What a great and innovative way of getting “Everyone in the World in the Word”

Thus there is a need for more of these lessons to be translated into the languages used here. Pray that the Lord will lead us to good translators for Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and Tamil.

Praise God that the PJ Class completed their study on Deuteronomy. The average attendance was 85% and 5 members maintained a 100% attendance. Congratulations!.

They closed the semester with a fellowship dinner and testimony time.

Raymond, a small group leader testified that he had learned much from his mixed group of young and old. The old he said kept him on his feet and the young impressed him with their growth in the Lord’s Word.

Kon, a member of a small group testified that coming to CBSI class in PJ has given her a better understanding of the word She felt that after her baptism, the desire to read and study God’s word was intensified. CBSI studies have help her to grow and appreciate God’s word.

Susi, another member of a small group said that until she came to this CBSI Class, she had no desire to study God’s word. Now she is enjoying her study and devotion time.

Lip Vi, a new Christian, just wanted to thank the Lord that he came to our CBSI Class and not gone anywhere else. He believed that this is what the Lord wanted of him to learn and know His word. CBSI is the place.

We praise God that the class in JB started on Monday 20 July with an overview of the Epistle of James. 55 people attended the first session and I believe they will bring more friends to study the “wonderful words of life.” They will meet on Tuesdays at 8.00pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd JB. Please contact Rev Soong : 016-537-2007 for further details of the class. Rev Fred David, the National Director will be the Teaching Leading, assisted by Rev Soong and Mr. Tan Meng Poo. Please pray for this new class.

Board of Directors

Please pray for the men and women that the National Director Rev Fred David, has approached to be members of the Board of Directors for CBSI Malaysia. These are some of the fine Christians in the country and please pray that God will move their hearts to accept the appointment.

The Board of Director will assist Fred to run the ministry well and also at the same time for the National Director to be accountable to the Board. They will also be responsible for the policies of CBSI Malaysia and help raise the funds for the ministry and seeing the nation come to the Lord in some small ways.

Please Pray.

On Monday 29 June, the  National Director gave an introductory session to about 30 people  in the City of Johor Bahru. This is the town just on the other side of  Causeway, north of Singapore.  Those gathered came from a few of the churches in the city. It was a very encouraging evening and all went home seeing the need for an in-depth Bible Study in their city.

A small working committee was formed and they have decided to begin the class on 28 July 2009. This will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd.  If you know of any one who would benefit from these studies, please contact the following persons for more details:
