Everyone in the World…in the Word

Doors Keeping Opening

Praise the Lord for He is always Good.

I received a call today from a sister who works among students and realized that they needed to be grounded in God’s word. She had gone to a Christian Book Store to find some Bible study material but was unable. Someone at the book store gave her my number and asked her to call me. She did.  We are planning to meet this Saturday and to share with her the uniqueness of CBSI and how it can help one to grow in God’s word.

Please pray that this meeting will be fruitful and bring every one in the World in the Word.

Praise the Lord.

After a break of over 6 weeks, classes will once again commence. We start with the class in Ipoh on Wednesday 17 September 2008 meeting at the YMCA, and the class in Ampang at the Melawati Gospel Centre. Both these classes will be studying the Book of Daniel. I am preparing a new introduction for these classes. Please pray that those who come will benefit and draw close to God. I gather from our coordinator that 60 persons have  registered for Ipoh. Praise the Lord. Also pray as I travel by bus each Wednesday to Ipoh, that God will give me the strength and protection. Pray for the retraining of all small group leaders. Pray also as the Assistant Teaching Leader who will do a little more teaching this time round.

God opens a door

I want to begin with thanking you for your prayers for our visit to the Historical city of Melaka on 6 & 7 September 2008. It is about 2 hours drive south of Kuala Lumpur. With me were 2 other couples whose lives had been changed by studying the Word of God.

Gathered on Saturday evening at 6.00p.m at Christ Church, Melaka one of the 2 oldest churches in the region, were about 20 leaders, pastors and coordinators of ministry groups. Fred did a great presentation on the Ministry of CBSI. Following him was David Henry, a retired Senior Police Officer who attended the CBSI Class in PJ with a 100% attendance. David shared how CBSI had changed his life and encouraged those gathered that they needed to get into God’s word. He was followed by Mr. Fang who shared that the method used in CBSI was very effective. The third testimony of the evening was by Yoke Fong who is a small group leader. She is Fred’s wife who shared that she had experience much love and care from her group members when her mother passed away. These are some of the uniqueness of CBSI.

The group in Melaka are excited and they plan to begin a class next year after the Chinese New Year. They even went ahead and appointed a coordintor to help in all the preparations. Praise the Lord.

Sunday , August 31, the nation of Malaysia celebrates her 51st. year of Independence. We thank God for this nation where people of many faiths are able to live together. We have seen God’s hand in the many trying situations the nation has gone through. We have seen the nation grow from an unknown spot in South East Asia to one of the Asian Tigers. As Malaysians we are indeed glad this is our home, country and people.

Thus as we celebrate “Merdeka” , we pray that God will give us the burden for the nation. A vision to see the nation transform into one that will encompass the “fear of God” This can only be done if people come to a conviction in their spirits. This is where CBSI and we as members of every CBSI class in the country have a role to play. Getting people into God’s word. It is God’s word that will set our nation free of corruption, violence, injustice and waste. God has blessed Malaysia for a purpose. Pray this Sunday for Malaysia to walk in God’s favour.  Tuhan Memberkati Negara Kami Malaysia.

I am preparing for 8 classes to resume and 2 new ones to begin in September. We are looking forward to yet another exciting semester. 5 classes in the Klang Valley, 1 in Ipoh, 2 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The new ones will be in Melaka and a Chinese class in Ipoh. This means we will have 10 classes runnning till December. We give thanks to the Lord and the key leaders who have committed their time to this important ministry.

Please pray as I do the retraining sessions for the existing classes and the new ones. Please also pray that those who have agreed to take on as Teaching Leaders and the training.

Praise God for the invitation to make a presentation of the CBSI Ministry to leaders in Melaka on Saturday 6 September 2008. This will be held at about 7.30pm at Christ Church, Melaka. Please pray that the leaders in the city would be bold enough to venture out in faith to begin an inter-denominational  class for Melaka. Praise the Lord that a potential Teaching Leader has been identified. We will need to provide the training and prayer support for this brother.

New Chinese Class!

Praise the Lord! A new Chinese Class will commence soon in Ipoh on Thursday evenings with Sheerah Lee as the Teaching Leader and Sandi Lee as the SGL. They have also decided to begin with the Book of James. Please pray for this class. This will be the first Chinese class here in West Malaysia. I pray that this will be the starting of Chinese classes in West Malaysia. All Glory to the Lord.

Please pray that the translations of the Chinese material will be forth coming. Pray that a pool of good translators will be found for the Asia Pacific region.

Dear friends,

CBSI Malaysia will soon be registered as C B Study Malaysia Berhad. For some unknown reasons we were not able to use the name CBSI Malaysia. This is a matter of technicality and administration and should not raise any concerns.

We are hoping to hold the inaugural Board meeting sometime in October, when the Asia Pacific regional Director, Mr Peter Hanscamp is here for a visit. We hope also that at this meeting other Board members would be appointed. We are planning for a Commissioning service for all the Board members and possibly to mark the occassion with a Dinner open to all CBSI class members and friends.

Please pray for Fred as National Director as he approaches selected people to sit on the Board. Pray too for the process of registration to move speedily.

After Yoke Fong and Fred conducted the Introductory and Small Group leaders’ training on 23-24 May 2008, the leaders caught the vision and excitement. 24 men and women, pastors and leaders turned up for the training.

The Ipoh Class was launched on Wednesday 2nd July 2008 at the YMCA,  with 65 members and at the 3rd lesson (yesterday), there was almost 90. This class is growing to the astonishment of the leaders in the city. They are studying the Book of James. Fred is acting as the teaching leader for this first class.

As National Director Fred has been praying for  sometime for God’s timing to start a class in this city. We want to thank the Lord for opening the door and raising up a number of capable leaders under the leadership of Ven.Steven Abbarow.

We are talking about starting a Ladies Group on Thursday mornings. This is to minister to the many housewives who could come out for a couple of hours in the day while their children are at school. Please pray that God will speak so some of the Ladies in the Wednesday night class to take on this challenge.

Dear friends,

We want to welcome you to our new blog. We apologize for the long silence. We had to adhere to some guidelines at the same time trying to be as Malaysian as possible.

We hope that our new blog would be as informative as we can. We pray that this will help you pray for us and the ministry in Malaysia.

God Bless

Fred
